A family winemaking tradition

Cantina Le Caniette is an excellent example of how passion for viticulture can be combined with innovation and sustainability. With a history rooted in the 19th century, this winery has evolved over time while preserving the values of family tradition and artisanal quality.

The origins of Cantina Le Caniette: a story of family and passion

The story of Cantina Le Caniette began at the end of the 19th century, when Raffaele Vagnoni purchased a farmhouse and a plot of land in Ripatransone, in Le Marche. At first, the vineyard was a secondary activity compared to livestock farming, but in the 1940s, under the guidance of his son Giovanni, the first rows of vines were planted, marking the beginning of the family’s winemaking tradition.

Later, in the 1960s, the estate underwent a true transformation: Raffaele Vagnoni’s grandson chose to devote more resources to viticulture, converting much of the land into vineyards. This decision was crucial for the growth of the winery and for the recognition of Le Caniette wines within the Italian wine scene.

In 1990, the first Le Caniette labels were created, including Morellone and Rosso Bello, opening a new phase of growth and innovation. These wines marked the beginning of the winery’s development, creating a perfect balance between tradition and innovation.

Soil, climate and sustainability: the soul of Le Caniette wines

Today, Cantina Le Caniette covers 20 hectares of land, 16 of which are dedicated to high-quality vineyards. The winery is passionately run by the brothers Giovanni and Luigino Vagnoni, who continue to enhance the family tradition while always looking towards innovation.

The unique pedoclimatic conditions, with soils rich in limestone, sand and clay and the proximity to the sea, give Le Caniette wines their distinctive minerality.

Sustainability is a fundamental value for Cantina Le Caniette. The estate is certified for organic farming, a commitment that guarantees not only the quality of the wines, but also the protection of the environment.
