Il Ruggine Clara Marcelli rappresenta una delle espressioni più ricche e cangianti di artisan red from Marche. This flagship wine from the winery, founded in 1992 by brothers Emanuele and Daniele Colletta, is the result of a well-defined purpose: to restore expressions with high territorial identity.
The “Ruggine” red is produced from red grapes grown at an altitude of 260 meters, on vines that benefit from a perfect microclimate, regulated by modulated temperature fluctuations. The plants grow free from the use of chemical or synthetic substances and are harvested manually. In the winery, after sorting and destemming, spontaneous alcoholic fermentation takes place in steel containers. The wine then ages for five years, between steel, wood, and bottle, developing remarkable complexity and depth.
“Ruggine” presents itself in the glass with an intense garnet red. On the nose, it offers great complexity and richness, with notes reminiscent of ripe fruit such as cherry and sour cherry, spices, and wild herbs including rhubarb, bay leaf, and cinchona. These aromas intertwine into a rich and inviting bouquet. On the palate, “Ruggine” is smooth, warm, and enveloping, with dense and well-integrated tannins. The sip combines breadth, juiciness, and a very fine tannic texture, culminating in a very long and persistent finish.
“Ruggine” is made from a red grape variety known in the Piceno area as Bordò, which is actually Grenache. This grape variety changes name depending on the region: Granaccia in Liguria, Alicante in Tuscany, Cannonau in Sardinia, Gamay perugino del Trasimeno in Umbria, Tai rosso in Veneto, and Nelson on Etna. Vinification occurs spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in steel tanks, and the wine ages for five years, divided between steel, wood, and bottle. Viticulture follows the principles of organic farming, without the use of chemical or synthetic substances. The vineyards located at an altitude of 260 meters benefit from an ideal microclimate, with modulated temperature fluctuations that favor optimal grape ripening.
Il Ruggine Clara Marcelli è un vino che esprime al meglio la ricchezza e la complessità of the Marche region. With its complex organoleptic profile and long aging, this red represents an ideal choice for those seeking an authentic and engaging wine experience.
