This ancient variety has its roots in the 14th century, when orange trees were introduced along the Piceno coast by Sicilian sailors, finding an ideal microclimate between the south-facing valleys and the ancient city walls that still protect the plants from cold winds today. The cultivation of these citrus fruits became so strategic for the local economy that the city of Fermo prohibited the export of seedlings for centuries, transforming centers like Grottammare into the heart of a specialized and precious agriculture, making the orange the very symbol of the municipal coat of arms.

Today La Golosa transforms this centuries-old heritage into an authentic marmalade, using 180 g of oranges for every 100 g of product. The artisanal processing combines Biondo del Piceno Orange with only sugar and lemon juice, respecting the purity of a fruit with sweet pulp and an unmistakable fragrance.

Each jar brings to the palate the historical memory of an ancient territory and the fragrant flavor of a tradition that, from medieval gardens and ingenious historic irrigation systems, reaches us intact in its noble and aromatic simplicity.
